Sapient Faunus

Immersive Art Exhibition
Winchester School of Art, Winchester
Sapient Faunus was a solo exhibition/immersive installation working on creating sensations of incorporeal absence and metaphysical presence. The work was designed to theatrically immerse the viewer as part of a greater commentary on how we view art. The distinctions between auditorium and stage, viewer and performer, were blurred allowing for the participants to create a more intimate connection with the work, this, in turn, allowed the viewer to lose a sense of self. Dramatic lighting and physical parameters of religious environments were used to enhance these sensations allowing the work within to create a presence of its own. Broadcasting and recalling their presence in this dissociative state from which viewer and art can blend in a genesis tide, reacting to the nature each imposes on the other.
